I am taking on 1-3 commissions this summer! I don’t open for them often and I will only take clients for whom I can really deliver something we will both love.

pricing and sizing:

• 4x6” to 5x7” carved block (I print 5x7” blocks on 8x10” paper, so that would be a likely paper size)
• ~$200-300 USD based on complexity of carving or image for a single-color (black and white) print
• Up to 40 prints included in that price, if you need more, we can discus. I will make sure you get a minimum of ten prints

process:

• Send me an email (not a DM!) at mollykempson (at) gmail (dot) com
• Send me your ideas! I like carving animals, houses, nature, landscapes, etc. If I don’t think an idea will look great with my skill set, I will decline. If it seems like a good idea for both of us, we will agree on a timeline
• I will send some really messy thumbnail sketches and eventually a tightened up sketch of your block before approval. I require a $100 deposit before I start carving
• I will send you images of the image as I print it so that I can make sure to get the right amount of lightness/detail as once I carve I cannot go back. When the image if fully carved, I require full payment before I deliver block and prints </aside>

FAQ:

Does it have to be black and white? No, it can be another color on white paper. If you truly need multiple colors, let’s talk!

What’s your average turn-around time? 3-6 weeks depending on how much communication/sketching/adapting the project requires

Can I commission commercial work?

Probably! Shoot me an email. I’ve done band posters, t-shirts, that kind of thing.

What kind of payment do you accept? I can take PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, cards via Square, or set up an Etsy commission transaction (Etsy fees would have to be added) for additional purchase protection. I take checks from personally known clients.
